Frequently asked questions

What is a Building Surveyor?

Quite simply we are like doctors to the building industry. We identify defects, diagnose the cause, and specify the remediation.

What training and qualifications do Building Surveyors have?

All our Building Surveyors have a University Bachelor’s Degree in Building Surveying that is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Furthermore, to become a Chartered Surveyor each individual has to undergo a minimum of 2-3 years practical work experience before being assessed on their knowledge to the highest level.

When is a Building Surveyor needed?

A Building Surveyor is a specialist expert in all types of construction. We can do everything an Architect can do, however we specialise in the repair and maintenance of existing buildings rather than designing new structures.

What does ABC Ltd do?

Our main purpose is to provide independent professional consulting advice for your building needs.

What are the different types of Surveyors?

There are many types of surveyors, such as Valuation Surveyors, Property Investment Surveyors, Land Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors and Building Surveyors. Each of these roles have their own specialist profession and markets.

Why should I appoint a Building Surveyor?

We are not trying to sell you a product. We will provide you with independent expert advice that will benefit both you and your property. We generally work out more cost effective than an Architect.
